NEVADA: Valley of Fire State Park
We got tickets to Havasupai and decided to make it into a fun road trip to places we have never been. Our first stop was Valley of Fire. We were planning to camp in the park that night but it is first come first serve and it was full. So we went to this random spot that we saw tons of other people camping on our way in. I have no clue what it was haha. It was on the edge of a little viewpoint and turned out to be a nice spot.
Before we left we tested our car to see if we could sleep in it instead of having to deal with setting up/taking down a tent every night. Turns out if we put the seats in our Corolla down, put our heads into the trunk and our feet up toward the front seats, it works! Ha. We tried to park hills to accommodate for our feet being slightly raised from this set up. All in all, it actually worked out pretty good.
We woke up that morning and headed into the park! We loved it! It is so pretty and there were very few people out early in the morning so it was fun to have it mostly to ourselves.
We started at Elephant rock. FYI you for sure don't need to do the hike, you can also just drive by it, we did not realize that haha.
We hiked to Rainbow Vista and the Fire Canyon Overlook. My phone broke during this leg of the trip so those photos are lost but we have some good memories there haha.
Then we drove to a point over the Fire Canyon and ate breakfast while taking in the view.
Then we hike White Domes. It was super pretty and a fun trail!
After we finished there, we headed to the Hoover Dam. It was PACKED. So that was unexpected but it is still really amazing to see!
