October 2019

October feels like it went by SO fast! It was an extremely busy month for Aaron with several weeks of 4 or more tests in one week. Good times. The month started out pretty hot (in the 90s still) but by the end was down to the 40s.

October:

- Started out with Fall break! We had just gotten back from Toronto which was so fun! Aaron had to do a lot of studying the rest of the break.

- National Solar Tour - For work I had to go to several events in Hampton Roads

- Aaron rode to Williamsburg on his bike! I met him there and we explore an art show down there

- We went out to wings with friends (shout out to the Cardinal and Oliversons!)

- Sports Backers young professional board meeting

- My dad came to town and visited! We had so much fun! We explored tons of Richmond sites - St. Johns church, the Capital, VCU School of Dentistry, Hollywood Cemetery, eating at Legends, the Quirk Rooftop, Mt. Vernon, exploring the river, fancy 5 course dinner at the Quirk, and so much more! It was really fun!

- Volunteered at Salvation Army - I had a day off for columbus day and went to go help with the christmas program here. It is fun to be on the other side after running a Christmas program for so long. It was fun to see how another program runs and be able to help out!

- Youth and Adult Presidency meetings and ward council and mutual and stake trainings

- OneCause Event in Hampton Roads

- Date night tennis and food at Azteca!

- Court of honor for a family from Aaron's mission

- Volunteer at the elementary school

- Volunteer at the JR marathon

- Fall event with sports backers - food and football and drinking. Good times.

- Ward Halloween party - we ran games with the youth for all the primary kids - they loved the doughnuts on a string the most!

- We had friends over to watch a world series game and made them lots of snacks and treats (and stayed up wayyyy too late way too many other nights during the world series)

- Halloween! Eating doughnuts with our friends and hanging out! We aren't very good at dressing up!

When my dad came to visit we went up tp Mt. Vernon (where George Washington lived) it was so pretty!

We also explored the river!

Him and I went on a hike around the river one morning which was really fun!

We also explored the capitol which is always so pretty and fun!

We volunteered at the JR marathon to cheer kids on through the course and direct them. It was really fun!

I have been running to train for a half marathon (next weekend!) it was been really fun!

Aaron went on a bike ride!

View on one of my runs.

View in the morning these days - the sun is rising right when we go to school with the city in the background!

Sunday walk in the rain!

My young women group!

Fall Ferns! At the Yankee Candle headquarters (I think? A giant store whatever it is haha)

Chopped activity with the youth that they LOVED!

I had a work event near VA Beach so Aaron rode his bike down to Williamsburg and we met up and cruised around Williamsburg. There was a big art festival happening which was fun to see!

Date night! Aaron's turn to plan. We played tennis and went out to eat at a mexican place we pass every week on our way to church that we have talked about since we got here. They have a smoker outside and it always smells sooo good. We were the only white people there so that is always a good sign. It was delicious!
