November 2019
The first weekend in November, we rode our bikes out to a restaurant downtown for Taco Week. Taco Week happens once a year where Richmond Restaurants have a couple tacos for sale for $5 and it is a competition for who has the best tacos. It was delicious!
On Saturday, we volunteered with SportsBackers to put together bikes for Christmas gifts for low income families. It was super fun!
We met up with Tim in Roanoke, VA! We went up and saw the Roanoke Star, went out to eat and then camped in our cars for the night. We left early in the morning from our camping trail head spot to hike up to McAfee Knob for sunset. It is about 8 miles round trip (I think?) We did it in the dark and it was cold but it was super fun and super pretty!
We made it up to the view just in time for sunrise!
We were pretty cold on the way down - I was bundled in our blankets but it was worth it! We went out to breakfast with Tim and a friend afterward and headed back home.
Aaron is doing an ADEA fellowship where he is doing research on CADCAM dentistry stuff. He had to give a presentation to the 4th years and present to dentists at a research day. I got a preview the night before!
With his other ADEA fellowship classmates.
Him with his poster!
We celebrated 11 years of marriage! It was a Monday so Aaron had school which was lame for him. I ran a half marathon in the morning! Whohoo. And then in the evening we went out to dinner together. We had been planning to go to this nice Italian place for months but we arrived and it is closed on Monday ha. So we ended up at a different Richmond classic for us which was still delicious. Lucky to be married for 3 years!
We volunteered at the Marathon expo and got to help at this fun table!
My biggest work event in each state is the state "Solar Congress". The Virginia one was on November 16th. It went super well! We had over 200 people and everyone seemed to love it.
We set up our Christmas stuff early knowing we would be gone for most of December so we wanted to enjoy it!
We had a fun date night out at Cabellas and cruising the mall to see Christmas lights! We played Checkers at Cabellas and enjoyed their incredible set up by the fire!
I saw an eagle on one of my walks across the bridge! So lucky to live where we do!
We have been perfecting our homemade pizza! Aaron tried deepdish!
For Thanksgiving, we went on a 7.2 mile trail run which was super fun and hard! It was super sunny which was nice! In the afternoon, we had a Thanksgiving with a bunch of friends and went and saw Christmas lights it was amazing!
Aaron has finals next week so that is fun! Almost halfway done with 2nd year!
