March 2020
Wow. March feel like a year long. It was a crazy month! The start of the month we were just hearing a bit about COVID 19 and by the end of the month it had completely changed our nation/community/normal routine. It is weird to think back on the start of the month in comparison to now.
But to start off our month Aaron's parents were in town for his White Coat Ceremony which kicked off his spring break!
We went to Williamsburg with them and showed them around!
Went on many walks including around Belle Isle and the river. Our pup we dogsit, Coors, came with us!
We got to eat tons of good food with them! It was so fun to have them come visit and show them around where we have been living the last two years.
After Aaron's parents left, we went to Austin, TX to visit Mike for the rest of Aaron's break. It was super fun! We watched Mike play Bocce ball in a league, went out to this ping pong bar and explore Austin!
We went out to the Hill Country one day for a hike! It was really pretty and perfect weather!
Aaron's dreams came true when he got to visit Lance Armstorng's bike shop.
We came back home to business as usual (for a week). We watched our dog BFF Coors.
We have been trying to support local businesses so we walked to a Pizza shop down the street from us to try it out. It was delicious and we even had leftovers which is the best kind of meal.
In the midst of COVID 19, Aaron's school has been canceled for all in person classes. So he has classes online for any of his classes that can be online and then his lab and clinic work is going to be postponed. So he has been stuck at home with me all day. He has done a great job at keeping busy and doing learning from online CE courses, reading implant textbooks, doing courses on startups, listening to a bunch of dental podcasts and tons of other stuff! So he is making the most of the not ideal situation. We have been on tons of walks - at least once a day so we have tons of pictures of that this month. We have also been playing tons of tennis and riding our bikes! Aaron has also been baking us some incredible stuff and just started working for Instacart so he can make money on the side.
Tons of flowers blooming in the spring! We have had tons of rain.
We also started our garden! This is what we had to clear out - rough times. But things have started growing already!
Aaron has made us pretzels, cheddar and jalepeno biscuits, buttermilk biscuits, banana cream pie and chocolate chip cookies!
We went up to DC for the Cherry Blossom festival. We practiced social distancing :) It was the quietest I have ever seen it in DC! We also got to explore Georgetown which was really cute!
The view of the National Monument with the Cherry Blossoms!
Even doing walks in the rain :)
I am training to do a 50 mile bike ride! We did my first long ride last Saturday and it was 20 miles! The furthest that I have ever gone! We went to the High Bridge State park which was super pretty!
Afterward we had our lunch with a view in Farmville. It was really beautiful and perfect weather!
We have also been playing a lot of game nights.
I work Aaron every time :)
We have had tons of treats during this quarantine so we might be rolling out of here when they finally let us out :)
We have been trying to support local businesses during this time even more than normal. One of Aaron's classmates sibling's has a new bakery so we went and checked it out and went for a riverwalk in Hopewell.
We have also had dinner from a local mediterranean place and ate it with a riverview and a local burger place with a view from Libby Hill. Saturday nights eating out at local places and finding somewhere to eat with a view has been a fun new tradition.
It has been a crazy month but we are lucky to be in the position we are in and lucky to like each other enough to hang out all day every day.
